March 25th-29th - Spring Break! Greek Plays Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone for coming to our Greek Plays on Tuesday! The kids were all so proud to perform for you all. Weren't they great?! Janet Stevens Visit Ask your second grader about the visit from local author, Janet Stevens! She shared with us how she gets her ideas, how she works on the books, and how they get published. Stop by the hallway sometime to see the artwork we co-created with her! Fun Run Fundraiser! Thank you for your support of High Peaks through the Fun Run fundraiser, the kids ran their little hearts out. It was a great morning in the sun! Homework: Spring Break Reading Bingo! Read, read, read, and there will be some (small) prizes for returning with a Bingo! Important Dates:

We are so excited to perform our Greek plays for families on Tuesday evening in the cafeteria. Kids need to wear white shirts and black pants, unless you want to create a more elaborate Grecian costume for your child's role. This is up to parent discretion. We know it is short notice, and white shirts with black pants will look sharp, too! Fun Run Fundraiser! Please make sure to ask for lap donations for the Fun Run. We are excited to raise money and make our school the best place it can be, and to get some exercise in the process! Homework: Due to the snow day and challenging lessons, we have slowed significantly on this unit. Please note the changes to the homework, you might have already completed some last week. 3/19: Greek plays 5:30 pm Ancient Greece Mark your calendars for the evening of Tuesday, March 19th. Second graders will be performing Greek plays at 5:30! Greek Olympics in PE The students had a great time participating in the Greek Olympics during PE. Ms. Graham did an incredible job of organizing it for us, be sure to thank her the next time you see her! Another big thanks to all of the parents that helped out at the events, we appreciate you! Homework: Reading - 30 minutes every night from a "just-right" book. If your child is having a hard time finding an appropriate level book, remind them of the 5 finger rule! Math - Monday: 6-9 ** We ended up spending two days on this lesson. Tuesday: 6-10 Wednesday: 6-11 Thursday: 6-12 |
