Important Dates
January 21st - NO SCHOOL Welcome Back! The kids came back to school with eager minds ready to learn! We have had a great first week back, and the kids are already taking off on new science and social studies units: Air, Weather and Water in science, Immigration and Citizenship in social studies. They are also borrowing "craft moves" from master writers as we carefully weave personal narratives. In math we will continue working on methods of subtraction through most of January. Ancestor Doll Homework Project Second graders are beginning a social studies unit on Immigration and Citizenship. As a culminating project, the kids will create an ancestor doll at home. We will display these dolls at our Ancestor Doll Fair at 9:00 am on February 9th. (Dolls will be due the day before, on the 8th). Families are welcome to attend! Please feel free to contact your child's teacher with any questions about the project. The following link will allow you access to the digital version of the directions for the ancestor dolls. docs.google.com/document/d/1tUul8W52IVbqew5-KlIF76vlY8hQP_AueeMAFvrgLOI/edit?usp=sharing Homework - 30 minutes of reading from a "just right" book - Math Homework: Monday : 4-19 Tuesday: 4-20 Wednesday: 4-21 Thursday: 4-22 Comments are closed.
