Tomorrow is PAJAMA DAY!
Our classes filled their marble jars and earned a Pajama and Stuffy Day! Students may wear their pajamas to school tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 14) and they may bring a small stuffed animal. The stuffed animal must fit inside their backpacks. Participation is, of course, optional. Thank you Kevin Lausten! Our resident "map expert," parent Kevin Lausten visited second grade and gave us a presentation on Google Earth. Kids got to "visit" Mt. Everest, Antarctica, Death Valley, and other exciting places virtually. Thank you so much, Kevin, for sharing your knowledge with us and for being willing to spend your afternoon in second grade. Help Us Get New Books for Our Classroom Libraries! Today, students will be bringing home the first of the year's Scholastic flyers. Ordering books through the classroom websites helps us earn points through Scholastic that can be redeemed for books for our classroom libraries. Nothing motivates new readers like new books! In September, Scholastic offers a 10,000 point bonus for classroom orders over $300. So, if every family ordered about $10 worth of books, we'd earn the 10,000 points, which is about 100 new books for the classroom. Thank you for your support!! Book Bingo If you have any Summer Book Bingo sheets that need to be turned in, please get those in to us ASAP. The celebration is happening next week.
