12/19, 6:00-7:30 Celebration of Sharing 12/20 - Field Trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science Student Google Accounts This week, students have continued working in their Google accounts on Book Talk Presentations. They may access them from home by logging into Google Drive and using their BVSD login credentials. Full Instructions can be found here. Field Trip We will be going to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science on Thursday, December 20. Please check your child's Thursday folder for the permission slip and send it back as soon as possible. Fall Volunteers Thank you very much to all of our fall classroom volunteers! We've so appreciated your help! After Thanksgiving break, our schedule is very erratic due to activities and curriculum, so we won't be needing classroom volunteers. Force and Motion Project Based Learning Unit After Thanksgiving, we're excited to do a BRAND NEW project based learning unit on simple machines, force and motion. Students are going to have the opportunity to design and build Rube Goldberg machines. As such, we are in need of some building materials! If you have any of the following items, please send them in after break!

The Original Works Art Room Fundraiser Ordering Deadline is November 9. You received a letter a few weeks back that contains your ordering instructions and all of the codes you will need to access your child’s artwork on the Original Works website. Your child’s artwork could be printed on a mug, a set of coasters, magnets, note cards, and more. Get great gifts for the holidays and help support the art room at the same time! Orders will be delivered to the school by 12/3/2018. If you have any questions, email me: [email protected]. Stone Soup Community Celebration Next week we will celebrate our classroom community with a Stone Soup feast. We will be reading many versions of the folktale with the feast as a culminating event of this mini-unit. Please be on the lookout for an ingredient request coming home, each child will need to bring one ingredient for our soup. Thanks for your help! STEM Fair The High Peaks annual STEM Fair (formerly known as the Science Fair), is right around the corner. Every year we need at least 40 volunteers (including 30 judges!) to help make this event a success.
