Some of the students want to wear traditional dress from their ancestry, and that is fine. Dressing up is optional, of course. Valentines We will celebrate the love our classroom community shares on Thursday, February 14th. If your child chooses to bring valentines, please be sure to make one for each child in the class. We don't want any broken hearts on Valentine's Day! We will celebrate as a class community, so we will not be having family visitors for this holiday. TOMORROW/January 25th: Our marble jar is full, and we are celebrating! Students may wear pajamas to school and bring: one stuffed animal (it must be able to fit in their backpack in order to keep size under control), a pillow, a blanket or sheet (we will be covering the tables to make forts), and a book to read. This is all of their choosing, and they can participate as much as they wish, so if they do not want to wear PJś or do not wish to bring one or any of the items, it is okay. They have been working hard and making good choices, so we are going to take some time to celebrate and still do some learning, too! Conferences: Students may attend conferences, but this is not required. We love to celebrate their goals with them, but sometimes it is easier to discuss concerns without them present. Save the Date: Friday, February 8 from 9-9:45 is our Immigrant Doll Museum. Please come and learn about our second grade families! Thank you for the egg cartons! We have plenty now! Homework: Reading - 30 minutes from a "just-right" book. Math - Monday : No math homework (maybe work on your ancestor doll project?)
